Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial

Objective:

To create three events around the official opening of the Oi Manawa Canterbury Earthquake National Memorial, coinciding with the 6th anniversary of the Christchurch earthquakes. These included a private blessing of the site exclusively for the families who lost loved ones in the quakes, a private service at Avonhead Cemetery and a high-profile civic dedication ceremony.    

Activity:

360 Degree Events was engaged to provide event management services and coordinate all supplier logistics for the three events on behalf of the NZ Government (VCO), Otakaro, Quake Families Trust and Christchurch City Council. This included site design and layout, obtaining quotes, contracting suppliers, managing the budget, liaison with traffic management, security and emergency services, developing pack-in and out run-sheets, overseeing supplier H&S and onsite management of all supplier activities.

Result:

The three events were very positively received by the families, dignitaries and public.  The private blessing hosted 700 guests, the private service a more intimate 250 guests and the civic dedication ceremony saw over 3,500 in attendance.
